Free Helicopter Screensaver 1.0

Pretty much all there is to know about Free Helicopter Screensaver, an application offered by 3D Screensaver Jam, is obvious from its title. The “free” part tells you that you will not have to part with your hard earned money to get the application; it tells you it’s freeware. The “screensaver” tells you that this application is a screensaver. And the “helicopter” part tells you that this screensaver focuses on helicopters.

To sum it up, Free Helicopter Screensaver is a free screensaver that displays images of helicopters. That much is obvious from the application’s name. Here are the parts that are not obvious from the application’s name:

- When switching from one image to another, Free Helicopter Screensaver uses various transition effects.
- In the bottom right hand corner of the screen Free Helicopter Screensaver displays a white clock. From the screensaver’s settings you can change the clock’s color, position, format and size. You can also disable the clock if you don’t want to see it.
- At the top Free Helicopter Screensaver displays the 3D Screensaver Jam URL. Unfortunately you cannot disable this.
- By default Free Helicopter Screensaver hides the mouse cursor while running. This means that by simply moving the mouse about, the screensaver will not go away; it will only go away when you hit Esc or another key.

Download – the download weighs in at 2.2MB. At such a lightweight download size, it will only take a moment to get Free Helicopter Screensaver off the web and onto your computer (even if you are on a lousy internet connection).
Supported OS – at the time of writing this and according to the developer, Free Helicopter Screensaver provides support for Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000 and Windows XP. I installed the screensaver on a Windows 7-powered machine and it worked fine on it, even though the developer does not mention Windows 7 support. Guess Microsoft was right when it said apps that work on XP will work fine with Windows 7 as well.
Limitations – since Free Helicopter Screensaver is freeware, there are no limitations. You can use the screensaver for as long as you want and not part with your hard earned money.
